A Celebration Rooted in Tradition and Modern Elegance
With great care, intention, and deep cultural respect, Pink Wasabi Events had the honor of planning and producing Malik and Layaly’s Palestinian Tulba celebration. From the very beginning, this gathering was envisioned as more than a formal engagement event. It was meant to be a meaningful moment of connection, one that honored family, tradition, and faith while embracing a modern sense of beauty and celebration. Every decision was guided by the desire to create an experience that felt heartfelt, elevated, and true to who Malik and Layaly are as a couple.
What unfolded was an unforgettable evening filled with warmth, joy, and purpose. A celebration that felt both intimate and expansive. One that honored the past while joyfully welcoming what lies ahead.
Honoring Palestinian and Muslim Customs with Intention
Hosted in a private backyard in Fort Lauderdale, this Tulba celebration was thoughtfully designed to honor Palestinian and Muslim customs while reflecting the refined, contemporary taste of the future bride and her family. From our earliest planning conversations, it was clear that this event was not about trends or spectacle. It was about meaning. It was about ensuring that every guest felt the significance of the moment and the love surrounding it.
We took the time to understand the traditions, the symbolism, and the cultural importance of the Tulba, approaching the process with humility and care. Our goal was to translate those customs into an experience that felt authentic and deeply personal, while still feeling modern, elegant, and aligned with the family’s aesthetic.
Seamless Event Production, Rain or Shine
Although rain fell for nearly the entire evening, guests never felt its presence. Through thoughtful planning and detailed production, the celebration unfolded effortlessly. The entire backyard was fully tented, creating a cozy and protected environment that allowed the evening to continue uninterrupted. Turf subflooring was installed throughout the space to create a level, comfortable foundation for dining, desserts, the espresso cart, and key gathering areas.
In addition, the pool was completely covered and transformed into a custom dance floor. What could have been a logistical challenge became one of the most memorable features of the night. Guests moved freely, danced comfortably, and remained fully immersed in the celebration, unaware of the rain just beyond the tent walls.
Turning Logistics into an Effortless Guest Experience
Behind the scenes, this event required thoughtful coordination and problem-solving. In front of the scenes, it felt seamless and calm. This balance is at the heart of our approach to event production. When logistics are handled with care and intention, guests are free to remain present, connected, and joyful. That sense of ease allowed the beauty of the evening and the importance of the traditions to truly shine.
Music, Movement, and Cultural Expression
As the evening unfolded, the celebration came alive through music and movement. A DJ played traditional Palestinian and Middle Eastern music that resonated deeply with the family and their guests. The dance floor remained full throughout the night, filled with laughter, rhythm, and shared joy. The energy was vibrant and uplifting, rooted in cultural expression while feeling fresh and celebratory.
Music has a powerful way of bringing people together, and on this night, it became a bridge between generations, memories, and shared identity.
Hospitality that Reflects Culture and Generosity
Hospitality was a central element of the celebration, thoughtfully woven into the overall experience. Guests enjoyed Middle Eastern catering that honored traditional flavors and family customs, complemented by a Spanish fire grill station serving paella. Fruit-infused water stations were placed throughout the space to keep guests refreshed, while a bicycle espresso cart and dessert display offered a warm and inviting close to the evening.
Each culinary element was selected with intention, reflecting the generosity and warmth that are so central to Palestinian celebrations. The goal was not just to feed guests, but to care for them.
An Organic, Bohemian Design Aesthetic
Visually, the tent was transformed into a romantic, bohemian-inspired setting that felt layered, inviting, and refined. The design avoided anything overly structured or rigid, allowing the space to feel natural and welcoming. Soft pink floral centerpieces added warmth and charm, while the overall palette and textures created a balance between elegance and ease.
The result was an environment that felt celebratory without being overwhelming, and elevated without losing its sense of intimacy.
Designing Culturally Specific Celebrations with Care
What made this Tulba especially meaningful for our team was the trust built throughout the process. This approach allows us to honor traditions in a way that feels genuine and aligned, rather than performative. For Malik and Layaly’s celebration, that commitment was felt in every detail, from the flow of the evening to the smallest moments of hospitality.
